Featuring many permanent and changing exhibitions, the Rotorua Museum offers a dynamic look at the region's fascinating history. Of particular note is the exhibition on Rotorua's history as the ancient homeland of Hawaiki to the Te Arawa people. Located in the Bath House, a grand Tudor-esque chateau, the building itself is an attraction. The baths, recently restored, are now open for public use. A tearoom is also onsite.
